New Year New Gear

New Year. New Gear

Well 2025 has blasted off like a rocket ship. I’m feeling so creative and charged up! My holiday was more of a creative staycation where I played a lot of guitar, drafted my goals for 2025, was in the studio for a few weeks, released two songs and finally rested!

Now, I’m reenergized to really do some BIG things!

NEW MUSIC ALERT

I’m so excited to finally get my solo music projects up and running. I just officially released my first acoustic instrumental called, “Morning With The Birds.” It’s a delicate, beautiful piece that I wrote one morning on my porch. I was listening deeply to the sounds and music that the birds were creating and it brought me a great deal of peace and inspiration.

I invited special guests Aixa Miguen (violin) and Rick Gallagher (piano) to lend their talents to the tune, breathing even more life into it. This song is part of a series of acoustic/instrumental material I’m producing in my pursuit to get some placements in TV and film. I released the song early this week on Monday, January 13th, 2025. I’m excited to share other sides of my musical tastes, ability and creativity.

I’m well-known for my rocker energy, and crazy heavy metal style guitars–which on the surface can be limiting if that’s the only thing people associate me with or think I‘m capable of playing.

The truth is, I play more acoustic guitar than anything. I’ve just never fully shared it with the world, until now!

The cover art was inspired by and dedicated to my girlfriend’s Father, Dr. Dale Rouch who passed away last January. He and his wife loved hummingbirds, and this art I designed is a tribute to them, their love and our special time together in the Bahamas.

FEEL GOOD MUSIC

NASH.V.ILL released our sexiest and most spicy single to date “Tha Feelgood” on New Years Eve 12/31/2024. It’s a sensual song about seduction, temptation, and ya know, –that feelgood. We are especially excited about how this turned out and I spent the greater part of December really dialing in the production on this one. It gave me a much needed boost of confidence in my ability to produce high quality sounding music!

Go Shorty, It’s Your Birthday!

NASH.V.ILL has been invited back to perform for the 3rd year in a row for the Troegs Nugget Nectar Release party at Spirit in Lawrenceville. The event is gonna be like a 21 year old-themed birthday party! We will have DJ Supa C sitting in with us. DJ Hoagie Dreams kicks off the event from 5-7, then we hit 7-9pm (for all of you early birds out there!) Come out, have a beer, eat some pizza, and listen to some funky jams. This event is always a good time with great energy!

As Bold As Betty

For our next single, NASH.V.ILL has taken on the challenge of covering a song by the undisputed Queen of Funk– Betty Davis. In 2023, we played a Betty tribute set for the WYEP Hellbenders Ball. While I was already a fan, learning her music really impacted me. From that moment on, we’ve included our rendition of “If I’m In Luck, I just Might Get Picked Up” in our set.

In celebration of Black History Month, (and her roots in Pittsburgh) –we are recording our version of the song to celebrate her bold, fierce trailblazing funky, and sensual energy. It's our way of paying homage to her and shining light on her legacy and contribution to funk and soul music.

Fun Fact: NASH.V.ILL vocalist Jacquea Mae performed a tribute show for Betty with Davis’ bandmates years ago. She did so well that they reported to Ms. Davis about Jacquea’s powerful rendition of her music. Davis was so impressed that she sent Jacquea money showing gratitude, which in turn paid for her passport and led to her first performance overseas. Wow. It’s only right that we celebrate this amazing artist.

Until next week, stay true, stay grounded and believe in yourself.

Byron
